When Holding On Starts Holding You Back

Letting go sounds easy until you’re the one standing in the middle of something you believed in, invested in, and hoped for. Sometimes we cling to things that were never meant to stay — not because we’re weak, but because we’re human. We want to fix it. We want to understand it. We want it to become what we imagined.

But surrender isn’t defeat. Surrender is wisdom. Surrender is trust. Surrender is the moment you stop fighting battles that were never yours to carry.

The Fear That Keeps Us Frozen

People don’t stay stuck because they’re unaware. They stay stuck because they’re afraid of the unknown. Afraid of what happens if they walk away. Afraid of what happens if they speak up. Afraid of the backlash, the judgment, the misunderstanding.

And sometimes, afraid of the truth they already know deep down.

Life can twist your senses when you’ve been through enough. You start noticing things others ignore. You feel pressure others don’t see. You sense patterns that don’t make sense on paper but make perfect sense in your spirit.

That doesn’t make you paranoid. That makes you aware.

And even in those moments — the confusing ones, the heavy ones, the ones you can’t explain — God is still there whispering, “Let it go. I’ve got this.”

When Life Feels Coordinated Against You

There are seasons where everything feels like it’s closing in. You try to speak up and nobody listens. You try to explain and people look at you sideways. You know what you’ve lived through, even if others don’t understand it.

But here’s the truth: You don’t have to convince anyone. You don’t have to prove your reality. You don’t have to carry the weight of other people’s disbelief.

God sees what you see. God knows what you know. And God handles what you can’t.

Letting Go Is a Spiritual Discipline

Letting go doesn’t mean you stop caring. It means you stop letting the wrong things drain your spirit. It means you stop giving your peace away. It means you stop fighting shadows and start walking in light.

You’ve already done the hardest part — you chose growth over retaliation. You chose peace over chaos. You chose to be a father your kids can look up to, instead of repeating the cycle.

That’s strength. That’s resilience. That’s God working in you.

Giving It to God — Every Single Day

Some days you’ll feel strong. Some days you’ll feel tested. Some days the old version of you will try to rise up.

But every day, you get to choose:

  • Do I carry this, or do I hand it to God?
  • Do I let this break me, or do I let it build me?
  • Do I react, or do I rise?

And every time you choose surrender, you choose freedom. Written by. Kristofer Krumholtz

“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.” — Psalm 55:22
