There comes a point in every journey of resilience where you realize something powerful: most of the voices you once tried to impress were never meant to guide your life in the first place. The world is loud with opinions, expectations, and demands. People will cheer for you one day and question you the next. Groups will embrace you when you fit their mold and distance themselves when you grow beyond it.

But resilience begins the moment you stop chasing their approval.

Validation from people is temporary. It shifts with trends, moods, and misunderstandings. One wrong move, one boundary, one moment of honesty—and suddenly the same people who praised you may turn away. If your identity is built on their acceptance, your foundation will always shake.

But when your validation comes from God, you stand on something unshakeable.

God’s approval isn’t based on popularity, performance, or perfection. It’s rooted in truth, purpose, and who He created you to be. He doesn’t change His mind about you. He doesn’t withdraw His love when you grow. He doesn’t punish you for choosing a healthier path. He calls you forward, not backward.

Resilience grows when you stop asking, “Do they approve?” and start asking, “Is this aligned with who God is shaping me to become?”

Where True Strength Comes From

Resilience is not about being unaffected by criticism. It’s about knowing where your identity is anchored.

People may misunderstand your boundaries. They may question your silence. They may not recognize the work God is doing in you. That’s okay. They’re not supposed to. Your calling wasn’t given to them—it was given to you.

Moving Forward Without Permission

There is freedom in no longer waiting for someone else to tell you that you’re enough, worthy, or on the right path. You don’t need a committee to confirm what God already placed in your spirit. You don’t need a group to validate your healing. You don’t need applause to keep moving forward.

Your resilience is built in the quiet moments where you choose obedience over approval, purpose over popularity, and truth over comfort.

And when you walk with God’s validation, you walk differently. You walk with clarity. You walk with peace. You walk with strength that doesn’t depend on who stays or who leaves. Written by. Kristofer Krumholtz

Galatians 1:10 “If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
