Some battles never make it into the open. They live in the quiet spaces—between who we were, who we are, and who we’re becoming. These demons aren’t always monstrous; sometimes they look like old habits, buried shame, inherited wounds, or the echoes of voices that told us we weren’t enough. But facing them is part of upgrading our resilience. It’s part of reclaiming the story God intended for us.
And those demons of addiction—those repeated loops, that insanity of doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results—never lead us down the narrow path. They always pull us toward the wide road of destruction. Even when our heart wants to veer away from it, life, influence, or temptation can tug us back toward what’s easy.
Most people want the shortcut. The quick gain. The easy money. The fast track to attention or fame. But that path never lasts. It burns bright and dies quickly, leaving people emptier than before.
I would encourage anyone reading this to slow down. Be patient. Sit with yourself long enough to hear who you really are. Find the voice inside you that isn’t shaped by the world, but by God. Build that relationship in the quiet places, because the demons we face in the dark can only be conquered correctly when we face them with truth, humility, and faith. And when we conquer them the right way, they lose their power to resurface.
We’re always going to face struggles. Life will always bring moments that feel too heavy, too sharp, too much. But with hard work, dedication, and a willingness to grow, you can pull through anything. You’re not walking alone. God is by your side.
